post-season 8 finale.following the harrowing, traumatic and tragic events of the plane crash — lexie was among the ones to survive. nobody thought she would, with how grim and hopeless things seemed. she did survive but not without massive injuries to her body and her quality of life.when she was air lifted from the site, she was immediately rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery. lexie suffered more than enough damage to her back to leave her immobilised for the first five or six months of her recovery. she had to attend months and months of torturous physiotherapy to gain back the use of her legs and even then, she would only gain between 60%-70% of her mobiity back. meaning that she would never gain the full use of her legs again, leaving her numb in certain parts. parts of her back were permanently and severely damaged, leaving her with constant phantom pains as well as spasms and locked up muscles; leaving her paralyzed for hours at a time.she is absolutely littered with scars, from her face to her back, to her stomach, thighs and legs. they’re not pretty, either, jagged and incredibly misshapen scars. she is very insecure and conscious about her scars, especially the ones on her face — she will often cover herself up with as much make up as necessary to make them almost completely invisible.she has around 50% feeling in her right arm, the one that was crushed underneath all of the plane debris, meaning that she won’t be able to practise in neurology which was her true dream. she is still practising medicine but she’s not going into neurology any more.( * i do have an au based on what lexie said in the finale. “i can’t feel my other arm, so i’m not sure it’s even there any more.” chances are the nerves were damaged and her arm was crushed so severely that either a) she lost function of her arm and probably never regained full mobility of it, meaning she could no longer practise medicine or b) her arm had to be amputated and she had to be fitted with a prosthetic. there’s a chance she might have been able to continue practising medicine with the injuries but they’re not high chances. (however, with my canon – though i would au it if necessary – she gains enough mobility of either her actual arm or her prosthetic arm and she’s able to continue practising medicine. )a very important note: lexie would likely never fly again. if she were to fly, she would need to be with someone at all times. that or she’d need to be given sedatives or sleeping tablets so that she isn’t awake for the journey. being on a plane would bring about far too many memories, far too many bad memories that will haunt her for the rest of her life. she would never fly alone after the crash and would never be able to be awake. the crash would give her immense amounts of ptsd (any crashing noises, banging, anything that sounds like the engine of a plane - these are things she would have to work through in therapy), trauma and nightmares. even night terrors, if it became too bad. she would have to attend a lot of therapy along with her physiotherapy. she would never, ever, be the same girl again.

teen wolf au.after the plane crash, lexie goes through intense physio therapy to gain the use of her legs back. once her rehabilitation is over, lexie decides that the memories of seattle are too much for her to handle because she keeps remembering the crash, keeps seeing mark everywhere she turns. so she moves to beacon hills to work at BH memorial hospital (which is severely understaffed) and gets a small apartment on the outskirts of beacon hills.she can either make good friends with the pack and essentially become their doctor when necessary or she can sit on the sidelines and watch as the real weird shit unfolds. depending on who wants into the verse / how its played out.
